Gbedu Nights come home to Mix Cocktail Bar
Gbedu Nights is a monthly cosmopolitan music event focused on celebrating music
from our continent and the diaspora. The event is the brainchild of three talented
afrobeats djs who are knowledgeable in the African music space. Boujeena, Kat
Upendi, and Spokenpriestess are at the forefront of the afrobeats genre with their
collective ‘The Afrobeats Space’. The platform was founded with the intention to
promote, share, and celebrate afrobeats music. The ladies have taken their knack for
African music selection to another level by curating an event where both lovers of
afrobeats and those who are curious about it can come together and connect.
We cater for an alternative, non-pretentious night life experience that focuses solely
on afrobeats, afro-pop, bongo, kizomba, kuduro, and ndombolo music. While the
current trend in restaurants and clubs is amapiano, afrobeats and other African
music genres don’t have platforms where they can live uninterrupted. There’s a clear
gap for a nighttime experience that delves deeper than the well-known afrobeats hits
on radio, TV, or in the top 10 hits chart. Gbedu Nights is for the lovers and
connoisseurs of African sounds.
